Why Choose Our Private Antenatal Classes?

Embarking on the journey to parenthood is both exciting and daunting, I understand the myriad of emotions that come with expecting a child. That’s why I have curated personalised journeys tailored to meet the individual needs of every parent-to-be. Our service goes beyond traditional classes, offering a holistic journey that prepares you not just for childbirth, but for parenthood, ensuring you are as prepared and confident as possible heading into this beautiful new chapter of your life/lives.

Convenience and Comfort

Learn in a comfortable, private setting at a pace that suits you. The sessions can either be held at your property or at a venue in the cotswolds, at a time that works for you.

Personal Touch and trauma-informed

Each session can be tailored to spend more or less time on what really matters to you. I work closely with parents in a trauma-informed way, and having a background in mental health, my work supports every family, but in particular those who have perhaps had a difficult first birth or whom have struggled with a previous loss or difficult medical experience.

Private and
Confidential

Some individuals or couples prefer a private setting due to the sensitive nature of the topics covered in antenatal classes. You may feel more comfortable discussing personal issues, asking questions, and expressing their anxieties in a one-on-one setting.

Post-Class Support

You will receive ongoing support post the initial antenatal classes, being available to answer questions, offer guidance, and provide reassurance as the due date approaches and even post-childbirth. Having continuity of care can make a huge difference to the journey into parenthood.

In the Meet and Greet sessions, I take the time to get to know every individual or couple who enrol in my private classes. It’s essential that you feel I am the best fit for you, a lot of the work I do is to ensure you feel empowered in making decisions throughout pregnancy/labour/birth and postnatally and that absolutely has to start with me! I am more than happy to meet up before you book with me to ensure that you feel comfortable in my presence, and to lay the foundation for a supportive and nurturing learning environment. I believe that the most important thing is that you feel supported, informed, empowered and safe throughout your journey. Please reach out if you want to discuss anything before booking or meet to discuss what I can offer.

What’s Covered in the Private Antenatal Classes

The one-to-one sessions are designed to offer a completely personalised and supportive learning journey. Every class is tailored to cater to the unique needs and expectations of each parent-to-be, ensuring that the learning experience is as individual as it is educational, with a focus on not only labour and birth but also the early postnatal period. The private classes will cover everything that the standard antenatal course covers, alongside private hypnobirthing sessions, mp3 tracks, exclusive resources, private paediatric first aid training and an in-person breastfeeding session. Emily also has a great network of chiropractors, private midwives, paediatricians and IBCLC’s who can be referred to if wanted and needed.

With flexible locations, parents-to-be can choose to attend classes at their home or another cotswold location that can be agreed at the time of booking. Every space is adapted to create a serene and conducive learning environment. Emily’s commitment to offering continued support means that professional help is always within reach, even for the first couple of weeks postnatally.

FAQs: Private Antenatal Classes in Cheltenham

Navigating the journey of pregnancy and early parenthood comes with a plethora of questions! We’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions to hopefully help answer some queries you might have, please do contact us if you have any more though!

  • What if I can’t make it to a session?

The wonder with a private antenatal class is that we can be quite flexible in arranging the sessions at a time that suits you and if that needs to be re-arranged it is, within reason, not a problem.

  • How early should I start a private antenatal class?

It’s advisable to start a private antenatal class as early as possible during your second trimester to ensure availability and give ample time for learning and preparation. The more positive affirmations, hypnobirthing tracks, visualisation, anchoring, learning and support you can get in before your baby’s arrival the better.

  • Can my partner/birth partner come to every session?

Absolutely! Partners/Birth partners play a crucial role in both labour, birth and the early postnatal period so we would encourage this as much as possible, but if you only want a birth partner/partner to come to a couple/none/a few of the sessions it will be entirely up to you and what works for you and your family.

  • Why would it be worth paying more for private antenatal classes?

Private antenatal classes offer tailored support, customised content, flexible scheduling and ensure each couple’s specific needs and concerns are addressed. It creates a safe space to practice things like hypnobirthing and relaxation alongside a source of continuity of care that unfortunately currently isn’t often available within the nhs.

  • How many sessions are included?

Because private antenatal classes offer tailored support, customised content and flexible scheduling the length and frequency of the sessions can be agreed at the time of booking. Typically it would be 4-5 antenatal and hypnobirthing sessions, one breastfeeding session and one paediatric first aid session. Alongside telephone and whatsapp support. Face-to-face postnatal support is available and charged per hour.
